A list of popular assumptions that I am not prepared to simply accept would include the following:
- That time exists
- That 'progress' occurs in the direction we imagine
- That an either/or logic applies
- That death is real
- That human beings are superior to other life forms
- That I or my friends, family, ethnicity, are more important than 'others' or 'outsiders'
- That enlightenment is as people suppose
- That thinking is to our advantage
- That adults know more than children
- That life exists 'here' but not 'there'
